Covent Garden Flower Market Price Info

I went to Covent Garden flower market yesterday and thought i'd share a few prices as a guide. I found it really hard to source info online so hopefully this might help some.
The prices do vary daily but as a guide ( this was also without haggling to much as I was only buying a few to test out designs).
Roses - Long stem in bunches of 20 60p a stem
Roses - short stem ( looked more than long enough for bouquets etc and longer than those in the supermarket. Bunches of 20 - 30p a stem.
Sunflowers - 75p a stem in bunches of 5 (stem more than 1m)
Gerbers - £15 for a box of 50 long stem
Gerbers - £5 bunch of 20 slightly smaller heads and shorter stems (same length as you get in the supermarket).
Peyones - £5 for a bunch of 10
hydrangeas £1.50 a stem ( i think some had them at £1 but not 100% sure).
Gip (white foliage stuff - sorry im rubbish with flower names!) £5 for a massive bunch.
Here is a link to some pics from the market and the bouquets I mocked up - the large sunflower one is around 25cm in diameter and only cost £4.75!

Brilliant, thanks very much. What time did you go?0

we got there for around 7am and there was still lots of choice, I'd say we were there until around 8-8.30. They let you buy by the bunch so you don't have to get huge quantities but I get the impression if you do you can haggle more ( we got a few £ off!) They take orders so I am going to work out exactly what I want and call around to get prices a few days before. I think i'll go with Alagar Ltd though as they were so much more helpful and were the cheapest in the market for what we wanted.0
