Got charged for something I didn't order! Help!!

Hi guys,

I hope someone will be able to help me. Long story short I phoned Dundee box office to order tickets for the flower and food festival yesterday and asked for 4 adults and 4 children's tickets (specifically mentioned all kids are under 16- which means they are free). I paid for them using my MasterCard debit card at £62.50. They arrived this morning and the woman has given me 4 adult and 4 concession tickets. To be clear, I thought the adult tickets were the only thing I was paying for, turns out they were only £8 each! So they charged me £7 each for 4 concession tickets that I didn't ask for. I called them straight away and they have told me that they don't offer refunds unless the event is cancelled? Do I have any rights on this as was I asked for is not what I was given or paid for?

Thanks for your help!!

Did they tell you they were charging £62.50 over the phone? Did you not query at the time why it was almost twice as expensive as it should have been?

They debited your account with sixty pounds, but you thought you were paying sixty two pounds fifty?

I don't understand how you didn't notice the price when you paid, its quite clearly priced. prices it may be because you asked for tickets for them as oppose to them just taking them with you on the day.

All this is very fine but the OP is correct that the child tickets are free and that he should only have been charged for the four adult tickets.

OP, try MasterCard, they operate a charge back scheme, so might be able to help you. If they do, you may need to send the tickets back and re-order.

    sorry I never said...

I paid £10 each for the tickets last year and they weren't going to be doing the festival this year as they weren't making enough money so I thought I was paying £15 per adult and a £2.50 booking fee. I know its a big difference in price but since I specified the ages of the kids etc I thought they would at least give me the right tickets

I didnt know the price of the tickets exactly and I DID specify I wanted CHILDS tickets, not concessions.

Thanks Flyboy, you are right. I just hope mastercard can help me if they can't.
