Mortgage when on sick pay/benefits

Me and my wife currently own our flat, the mortgage is in my name only. We want to move and hopefully either get a joint mortgage or (if possible) for my wife to get a mortgage to add to what I have.

My wife was diagnosed with Leukaemia in September and has been receiving treatment since and is now (so far) making a recovery. She worked 22 hours a week prior to becoming ill. Then she got full pay for 6 months and is now on half pay for another 6 months. She is also receiving DLA and will get ESA. Basically, until she is fit enough to return to work (the job will be there for her until she is fit enough to return, even if its next year) the money she is receiving from these benefits in total is the same as if she were working full time. Is it still possible to get a mortgage or do lenders not lend in this situation?

Thank you.
