I realised last year that if you wait (I didn't!), they reduce it a couple of weeks before Christmas (Tesco Finest chateauneuf-du-pape is half price too). Have to agree, a lovely tipple!
  • Got a bottle in Asda at that price a few weeks back! Ideal for me since FIL always gets a bottle as part of his pressie! Tesco here only have it reduced from £12 to £7 which isnt quite as good but still a good saving!

  • Is it the following one ?
"Southern France Chateau Neuf Du Pape Cuvee Julienne 75CL"

Only I dont have an Asda near by and would be tempted to order online but want to make sure I get the right one.

(If it is this one you can get it order online and delivered to your house for under £5 a bottle if you are prepared to buy 6 by using one of the £10 off in £35 spend vouchers that are out there - ie 6 * £6 = £36 + £3.99 delivery = £39.99 less £10 discount = £29.99 for 6 bottles).

Would appreciate someone confirming that this is the correct one.

    TIA,

    Mr_F.
  • Mr_Frugal - that is the one and quite good as well.
Tesco's one on the other hand is absolutely awful. I bought at Tesco Metro and it was £6.49 but Tesco Extra charges £7.99 and it gives bad name to all good Chateau Neuf Du Pape out there.
  • Thanks for that blueyellowred. Ironically I had looked at getting the Tesco one (only reason I didn't is that to buy it online you have to buy 12 and I wasn't prepared to get 12).

Brilliant, I shall go order 6 bottles of this superior wine at £5 each. Thanks.

We have the Tesco one and think it's very nice, are you sure you just didn't get a corked bottle? We had a bottle from both Asda and Tesco last Christmas, and they both went down very nicely!
  • Scary27 - was soooo impressed that I appear to have thanked u twice. Didn't think u could do that !! (Wasn't intentional - but worth a double thank)
