wine clubs - which is best value?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me which wine club is the best value?

I have been looking at the Sunday Times Wine club, the Wine Society and the Virgin wine club, but any other suggestions would be welcome too..

Well, I've been a member of the Sunday Times Club, Laithwaites, Virgin Wines, Wine Warehouse etc. I use them for their introductory offers then cancel. Then join again, taking up their introductory offers (Well, for Sunday Times & Laithwaites - same mob anyway) You also get good value from Majestic which you can use to order online and Tesco - ditto.

I have never had a problem with the quality of wine from any of these (except possibly Wine Warehouse) or with deliveries i.e. they have always been prompt, in good condition and not gone walkies.

I see no point in sticking to one or another and without knowing your tastes and budget it is not easy to recommend. I have a code for £40 off a first order at Virgin if that helps...

I have tried a few wine clubs over the years. Like Twopints I have only ever used the introductory offers and then cancelled. In general I have been disappointed with the quality of the wines so I can’t really recommend any of them. Laithwaites opened a store near me recently and I bought a few cases. Again I was a bit disappointed and I won’t be going back. I buy most of my wine from Tesco and occasionally from Waitrose and Sainsbury and I am rarely disappointed. Tesco often have in store and on line discounts and in my experience these are excellent value so my recommendation for a Wine Club is Tesco on line.
