I have my house up for sale but am a widow and not working, I need to borrow a few thousand pounds to pay bills and get me through till I sell. I have applied for loans but keep getting turned down. Its so frustrating as I just need an advance till I sell my house. Can anyone suggest anything. Is there any way I can get an advance from my house before sale.

An interest only mortgage? Although there might be charges for setting it up.0

Actually a kidney...
Not that I am insinuating the OP should even consider such drastic actions.
Probable problem is the loan cannot be secured against the house as she is selling.
Must be difficult having a major asset without the everyday funds required
Wish you luck OP.0 -

Thankyou for the replies! There is still some money owed on house. I am looking for work and am willing to take anything.
Do you think the mortgage lender would let me have a few thousand and add onto the house. I have never been in this position before so am looking for advice. Many thanks0 -
you might be as well reducing the price by the few thousand you are thinking of borrowing. What does your estate agent think?Debt free 4th April 2007.
