wedding dreams / nightmares

Ive started to have some really weird wedding related dreams, I know its because ive been a bit stressed out lately but with only 3 weeks (tomorrow) left to go my sleepy brain has been playing some mean tricks on me!

Ive had a dream that i turn up at the church and there is nobody there,
Ive had one that the bridesmaids and i go to get ready on the day and all our dresses have been ripped to shreads and we had to go in jeans
and last night i dreamt that on the morning of the wedding they told me the church wasnt available so we moved to a local office building, my hair was dirty and i was trying to put it up with a platic tiara and a blonde hairpiece / wig thing, my dress started flashing like a big fat gypsy wedding one and when i was finally ready to go they told me that my OH wasnt there.... i waited for hours believeing he would arrive but he didnt...

please tell me its not just me!

I hope you're not the only one, as I'm gonna love reading them :T

I'm sure it's just because your mind is so occupied all the time. If it goes wrong in your dreams it has to be perfect on the day, i'm sure that's the way it works.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....
  • I had my first one the other day. My venue is an hour away from my house and I'm staying there the night before. In my dream, I wake up on the wedding day and can't find my dress anywhere. Total mad panic about being late or not being able to wear the dress.

I'm sure they're only going to get worse...!

I've only had one so far (not getting married til November so there's plenty of time for more!). I dreamt that my OH was waiting for me at the end of the aisle but he was wearing a scruffy old t-shirt and jogging bottoms instead of the lovely suit we've hired! I was so mad at him and told him to get changed but he said he was comfy like this and it was his wedding too!

Oops, maybe I need to be involving him a bit more...!

I dreamt my Mum had a HUGE row with the caterers in front of all the guests cos the caterer hadn't quoted us for the carrots they were serving.

I dreamt my Dad missed the wedding cos he was too busy finishing all the jobs that had to be done before the wedding!!

I had a dream where my parents house (where everything is stored) was broken into the day before my wedding and they poured paint all over my dress. I had to wear one of the bridesmaids dresses instead and we had no decorations, gifts or flowers. I woke up freaked out

I've had so many of these. Dreams where I haven't got shoes or have nobody to do my hair and I'm running around trying to find them. Dreams where my mum has changed the bridesmaids dresses to teal because the burgundy ones didn't fit, dreams where some nasty person stops me from getting to the hotel, and a very bizarre one where my mum forced me to wear a horrible sailor dress and marry Darius from Pop idol.

Oh thats funny! I once snogged Mick Hucknell (simply red) in a dream ages ago - it still horrifies me now  How could my subconcious mind think such things?! :rotfl:

I had a dream that someone had 'surprised' me and brought the wedding forward and organised loads of stuff. My little girl was wearing a gold sparkly leotard with long sleeves and really thick white tights, and there were also 2 other young bridesmaids as the sets were cheap on ebay?!

I haven't had any more since, because I started making lists after this dream. I think that I had been a bit worried about fitting things in and running out of time.

My lists are very helpful, have also got none wedding lists too cos like I had to renew the house insurance, and need to look into swapping electricity suppliers, and things like that are easy to forget with the wedding kind of taking over things. I got my house insurance £250 cheaper than the renewal tho, so its still really important not to forget all the other things. Its no good being super MSE on the wedding and spending un-necessary money on other expenses instead...

We are having our reception at a golf club and I dreamt that despite it pouring with rain the venue made everyone pay for and play a round of golf before they were allowed into the venue for the reception!

I am also having my dress made for me, and before meeting the dressmaker (and just before the royal wedding) I had a dream that when I knocked on the door to meet her for the first time, despite her going by the name of Linda, she was actually Kate Middleton and I had to sign a confidentiality agreement that I wouldnt go to the press as she was also making her dress herself!!??!?

I had my first one recently (wedding's not till December). Only a handful of people had turned up to the evening reception and we had still run out of booze and I was running frantically round local shops trying to find rose wine, but none of them had any. Horrible!

I'm pretty sure wedding nightmares/dreams are going to replace my old anxiety dream about turning up to graduation without a gown, which I've continued to have LONG after my last graduation ceremony!

Edited to say - BanburyBride your round of golf dream's hilarious! And bizarrely, like it'd be a great way to entertain people during the afternoon :D
  • i feel a little better that its not just me....

my OH on the other hand still isnt amused that i woke up this morning upset that he jilted me at the altar and got told off for it!
