edited 14 June 2011 at 9:02AM in It's gone, but was it any good?
Today I found some kosher Cabernet Sauvignon that went thru the tills at 79p !
I was looking at the small kosher section and on the bottom shelf were several wines. One had a SEL that said £16.33, crossed out, then £15.99 crossed out, then a big 79p. I thought hmm that must be a big mistake
I had a scan n shop scanner on my trolley so I scanned the barcode and on my scanner it was £15.99. So I thought well they might give me DTD or I can ask for DTD or I can ask for it at 79p. The worst that can Happen is I'll get a refund.
Anyway didn't it blinking well go through the tills at 79p ! So I paid for my shopping got another scanner out and went and got the remaining 5 bottles.
Its Barkan 20 months barrel aged Cabernet Sauvignon Galil 2007 from Israel. It also has a big security tag on it.
And also they had kosher Gefen Classic Marinara Pasta sauce reduced on SEL from £2.99 to 13p and that went through @13p.
Not every Tesco has a kosher section.
Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)
It takes 3500 calories to lose a pound in weight. Target 13 lbs weight loss. 18.5lbs lost 2nd May - 28 September.

Thanks Caroc! Not sure if my local has a kosher section but will look later. Stupid sounding question, but is kosher wine any different (taste wise, ect) to regular wine?

It's this one....doesn't seem to be in any Tesco near any of my family...and that's widespread, I can tell you!

I've never had kosher wine I shouldn't think so as I believe that its a blessing by a rabbi on the food and drink for consumption. I've had kosher scottish raspberry jam and kosher french mustard and they tasted the same as non.

I think your thinking of halal wine :)

Anyone wondering if their local(s) have a kosher dept, put your postcode into here, then click onto the link for the store and it tells you what departments they have

    http://www.tesco.com/storelocator/

Sadly, mine doesn't have a kosher dept

  • Gallion's reach will possibly have it, as they have a kosher dept - that's the closest Tesco to my dad with a Kosher dept.
