Holidays To Florida

Options
Me and my wife are planning a trip to Folrida for 17 nights at the end of September and the beginning of October. At the minute the prices seem to be a bit high. Does anyone have any good sites or travel agents were I could get a good deal. So far we have tried the usual expedia, opodo etc. Any help would be great.

Have you been before? We have been abt 5 times, going again in November!! Prices are high, esp flights with fuel costs and taxes etc going up. We are flying out of dublin with aer lingus, we did that last time too. It worked out cheaper than going form Belfast. We also book our flights/car/villa ourselves rather than apackage, we fund it was cheaper but down side is you don't have ATOL protection. But if you pay for it all on credit card you get protection that way.

Have a look at http://www.thedibb.co.uk for loads of good info, also there is a thread on the overseas holidays borad on here. You can save by shopping around for villas and car hire and tickets to save a bit.

We've stayed here a few times http://www.nextdoortomickey.com/ and will again in November.

This site is good for car hire prices, although I think we normally go with carhire300 http://www.arguscarhire.com/

american holidays in belfast often advertises deals too, never been with them but if you can be flexible with dates they might be good. http://www.americanholidays.com/gb_en/?choice_made=gb_en

Flying via Ireland is a good option to save a few quid.

Are you set on 17 nights? The big package providers probably do their best deals on 14...

I found that for anything slightly bespoke, the best option was to book everything yourself. I spent hours on the phone with various companies explaining what I wanted (staying in 4 different towns inc one internal flight) - all of them just came back with the price of adding it all up online, anyway. Complete waste of time.

We would also like to go to Florida from Manchester in mid October, could not find many deals either.
Jetline has a few packages, not very cheap.
Is it worth waiting for the last min deals?

If you go ex Dublin and connect via NYC I've seen fares under £500 using https://www.kayak.com and https://www.skyscanner.net even in summer. You're unlikey to get a deal on a charter flight ex BFS as the availability is very limited this summer.
Best deals I've seen on hire cars was using https://www.travelsupermarket.com which is just a comparison site

    Hi
Following the some of the advice above, you will have to travel with a scheduled airline for that time of the year there are no direct flights from belfast then, thomas cook used to do one but they are only running it for july this year.
I have been 10 times and have done all of them DIY booking my flights, villa and car hire myself. We have also done a stop over in New york for a few days before travelling on to florida, have travelled from belfast, dublin and london.

I am happy to answer any questions about flights, accommodation, car hire if you want to let me know what you are looking for.

This year we travelled at Easter from Dublin with US Airways and got a good price for our flights from travel up via https://www.zugu.com (which is now momondo).

You might want to try expedia.ie.

I booked a package via them a few days ago. We fly out 17th Aug to 31st Aug.
U S Airways, one stop in Charlotte on way out and one stop in Philadelphia on way back.

The accommodation is Lake Buena Vista Resort & Spa which looks fab. Expedia did have other options too.

We fly out of Dublin at 9.15 so we are staying at Kettles hotel the night before and they offer free parking too.

The price quoted was 3998 Euros for a family of 5. 2 adults, 15yr old, 12 yr old and 9 yr old. I'm personally delighted with price considering it was much more expensive on the expedia.co.uk site from Belfast.

Cosmos or monarch are doing some amazing deals from london/manchester. We went for a week for £250 each from gatwick a couple of weeks ago. (plus flights to london from belfast) It was £330 for two weeks but couldnt get the time off work.
