All,
As one of those brides who asked for money ($ US dollars) instead of presents we decided to keep a blog while we were away, we have included this with our thank you cards when we tell people what their money paid for, excursion, champagne breakfast, activity etc
Here is our blog if anyone wants to take a look:
www.ourhoneymoon.moonfruit.com
I think its a nice touch and the feedback from our guests has been amazing! We also had a thank you board that we held for a pic which is the front of the cards - this pic is in my wedding picture thread.
Hope this helps others with inspiration!

What a lovely idea! Looks very professional too. It's really nice for guests to be able to see where their gifts (money) went!0

Thanks - thats what we were hoping as we know very well the divide on etiquette on money/presents.
However we were overwhelmed by the amount we got, a lot of guests think its quite 'normal' now to give money. x:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

Oh wow, what a honeymoon!!!!
I am going a slight shade of green here LOL!
Can I be cheeky and ask what the honeymoon cost you, minus spends? I understand if you don't want to say, but it's something I have been itching to do for years and would like to know how long we would have to save up for to do it

Shellsuit, no probs. Without spends no more than 3k. However that included:
Flights
Car Hire
All insurances for car
Fuel for entire 2000 odd miles
Hotels of which were:
Argonaut at Fishermans Wharf
Motel booked while there for 1 night
4 nights in a suite at the MGM grand Signature
1 Night at El Tovar in the Canyon (this was £200 alone)
a night on the colarado river
2 nights on Queen Mary
3 nights in a suite in Westwood LA.
So you can see we didnt scrimp on rooms, you could get the cost down a lot more by compromising on hotels which if it wasnt honeymoon we would have. I didnt think it was that badly priced? xx:heart2: Got Married on 30/4/11 :heart2:

Was that for both of you? If so that is an AMAZING price!!:T:T
Would you mind PMing me with the details of your itinery please? I'm not in a rush, would just like to put it to hubby, as I'd love to do that for my 40th in 4 years, so we'd have plenty of time to save! xxTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
