Please help!!

I knew that my job was coming up for review soon, we have always been told it would be 'our' review.
Got pulled in today, and told I am the only one in the office not in that review, I will be in the second part of the review which will start once thiers has finished. When I asked why they couldnt really tell me, I am one grade below everyone else.

Can they do this? No-one is being slotted in, everyone will be interviewed and there is more jobs than people so it appears that if they perform well they should all be ok. I am worried that once it comes to my turn, everyone else will be sorted and there will be no need for me.

I dont know why I cannot be in the same review as everyone else, I feel I should be, is there anything I can do?!
Please advise me if you can

If their are more jobs than people, why are you worried. Can you do your job efficiently.
As employers they can do reviews however they like.
You said 'couldnt really tell me' what did they actually say.

Im worried because I am not in that review, so the jobs which there are more of will not be for me.
He just said i will be included in the second stage of the review. I just think that when that second stage comes around - there wont be a place for me.

You maybe dont need to be in the first review, thats maybe their way of thinking in that they may have a job for you already lined up
so you dont need to be reviewed.

So stop trying to think too much about it or ask again tomorrow, youre maybe worrying for nothing.

Its always a possibility you know

Its so hard to try and be positive, I think I am just one of those people who always looks on the negative. I was just really hoping I would know if I had a job in the next month or so and its just more wait now!!

Thanks though, I feel a little better.

Also what you might find is that once the first review is done there will be more jobs available for you to apply for at higher grades and also yours xxx

Hi There

Found out a little. The guy came to find me, who is doing our review, said that I havent been forgotten and he has seen some good work from me and heard some good things.

I cant be reviewed with everyone else as it isnt 50% of my job, however, I work a split role which I never chose to do - so effectively nothing is 50% of my job?!!

I will be reviewed in stage 2 with the level below us. Still not happy as feel I am being excluded. My line manager is in the review and his job isnt there, so he will take a lower paid job with no line management, so effectively I will have no line manager when it comes to my review which is when I will need them most!

I just feel messed about and cant help but feel hard done to because I split my time, which was never my choice.

I will have to wait longer for my review and will have no one in the office to share my concerns with as they will be gone/confirmed. And surely if the office dynamics change then my role will effectively change as I work in the same office.

They have said that stage 2 will begin shortly after stage 1, I didnt think you could start phase 2 until everyone was confirmed in post for phase 1...anyone know?

in my work place they have started different phases at different times - are you having a consultation period first?
