Barclaycard threatening letter

I've just started a dmp with payplan this month, one of my creditors is b/card. I have just received a threatning letter from them, in which they say they could seek a court order to obtain the repayments direct from my employer. Can they do this?

unlikely but not impossible to obtainDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Very very very difficult for them to achieve.
They would need to obtain a CCJ, and then you would need to fail to pay the sum or instalments ordered by the court.
Only then could they possibly consider that by way of enforcement.
You would also have plenty of opportunity to prevent it getting that far. If for example the court ordered you to pay in full or in instalments you couldn't afford or that were out of line with your DMP, then you could apply to the court to set instalments at something you could afford. As long as you kept to them, then they wouldn't be able to go for this.
Even if it by some miracle it got to the stage that they could go for this, you would be able to ask the court to set it at a rate taking into account your payments to other creditors, and ask them to vary it if initially set at too high a rate.
So honestly, Barclays are saying they could do something in theory.
In practice, it's unlikely to ever happen, and is not a big deal like it sounds if it did.
Just keep paying your DMP payments, let Barclays get their fair share from that and no more, and ignore their whining and rather feeble threats.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

You will find the letter is listing possibilities of what the end result could be. I have 2 Barclaycard accounts currently active and for me this is one company that is not slow to send a doorstep collector. For each account I had a doorstep collector call when the account went from arrears to default on the 3rd month. This happened a year apart. I wasn't in both times but called the collector who was pleasant and advised to make a payment to get me out of default. The only advice I can give is to communicate banks and lenders really are not that bad. Its the lack of communication that provokes them to threaten legal action.0

Yep, Barclaycard are not slow at sending doorstep collectors are they? They soon got bored with me and realised they were spending more money on sending idiots to my door than I owed them...so I let them carry on.
They accepted my repayments after the "visit" and I'm female and live on my own...
They have since been happily accepting my payments.
They are mostly full of hot air so I wouldn't worry too much.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Yeah somewhat different from how other operate. You fall into arrears they send someone to the door, you pay off arrears and your back into a healthy relationship with them. Other CC that were closed and now handed to creditors have never sent a collector to the home, yet the 2 Barclaycards still open and active :hello:0
