I'm very fortunate to live fairly close to the border so when I have to post abroad I usually I take the opportunity to drive over and use thier postal service. i find it cheaper and quicker than the Royal Mail, and thats for posting to Canada and USA. Also grab some petrol and a 'poke' when I'm there too.:) Now I dont know if this is an option but translink do a parcel service, you know stick it on the bus and have someone pick it up on the other side. I know that we use this service at work to get things to belfast quickly. Might be worth checking if this service is available on the cork route, maybe you could have someone pick it up in cork? Sorry I cant be more definate, but surely worth calling translink to ask.0

you could try myhermes www.myhermes.co.uk or UPS - if you post regulary you could use Fastway - I think it costs about £7.95 plus VAT for next day delivery to the South for up to 30kg - however some areas seem to take 2 days (Dunfanaghy for example) - with Fastway you buy a book of tickets so it is good if you post regularly enough to justify buying 10 or 20 tickets at a time!
Be careful with insurance as not everything is covered - fastway don't cover glass and in my experience are quite good at breaking it!DJWW - cos we won't let it!0
