Starring Bill Murray as the voice of Garfield, Breckin Meyer as Jon, Jennifer Love Hewitt as Liz, and Billy Connelly as the evil English Lord Dargis, Garfield 2 on DVD is simply the cats whiskers!

Everyone’s favourite feline super star is back and, while Garfield remains in love with himself, Jon (Meyer, Garfield The Movie, Herbie Fully Loaded) has fallen madly in love with Liz (Love Hewitt, Garfield The Movie, Thumbelina) and plans to propose to her. But when Liz travels to England on a business trip ruining Jon’s planned romantic proposal, Jon decides to follow her and propose to her in London.

Not to be left behind, Garfield and Odie escape from the pet hotel and stow away in Jon’s luggage to make the trip to London with him. When Jon discovers them in his London hotel, he shuts them away in his room; a large comfy bed, a TV set and room service – what kind of punishment is that for the world’s laziest cat!

Meanwhile, out in the English countryside, Liz is visiting a grand castle, home of Prince, a cat of Royal distinction and Garfield’s double! With a talking farmyard of loyal servants including pigs, ducks, rabbits and horses, Prince lives a life of luxury. When Prince’s owner unexpectedly dies, she leaves her entire estate and fortune to Prince… must to the disappointment and disgust of her greedy nephew Lord Dargis (Connelly, Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of Unfortunate Events). Determined to get his paws on the inheritance, Lord Dargis sets out to get rid of Prince and sends him off in a basket down the river Thames in the hope he will not be able to find his way home.

As Prince is arriving in London, Garfield is also escaping from his hotel in search of some more excitement and, more importantly, food! When Prince’s butler mistakes Garfield for his beloved master, he takes Garfield back to the castle and Prince is left abandoned in London… until Jon finds him and, mistaking him for Garfield, takes him home. With the same lazy grin, air of importance and distinctive orange fur, the mix-up mistake is an easy one to make and the troublesome twosome are now creating double the trouble!

Now the two kitties have swapped lives, it is up to Garfield and Prince to find their way back to their rightful homes… that is if Garfield can survive the clutches of Lord Dargis and Prince can recover from his new life of Lasagne and cat-napping!

Directed by Tim Hill, (The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Muppets In Space) Garfield 2 is the second film adaptation of the immensely popular cartoon strip created by Jim Davis. The single-disc DVD (RRP: £17.99) boasts a host of special features, including featurettes, games and an exclusive Garfield comic strip!
