can you register with more than one dentist

Hi,
Are you able to register with more than one dental practice.
The reason being my daughter would like her teeth whitened and at the practice we are registered with, the cost of this treatment is £400 (take home and do it yourself job using trays) and another practice where one of her friends go to is only £200 ( same way using trays) so a big saving indeed.

If you are going to another dentist for a one off treatment you will not be registered anyway.

If you go to a "NHS" dentist in England and Wales there is no such thing as registration anyway so it's not a problem.

If you're going to have whitening I would mention it to your own dentist just in case there are any reasons you should not have whitening and in case you have any crowns/fillings on front teeth that will need replacing afterwards.

I no this might sound dumb, but can you have a one off treament with another dentist as the receptionist i spoke to said they dont do that, so therefore would need to register

If the receptionist said that then thats the practice policy, so you will have to factor in costs of a check up etc in what it will cost you to have the whitening.

Quite sensible as you should have a thorough check up before whitening and probably x rays if not taken recently. That way the dentist knows there are no problems before they start whitening.
