unused contact lenses, any charities take them?

I have some toric lenses that I can't return or swap as they are part of an open box (my EX opticians won't take them or swap!)
Are then any charities that will take them as it's a real waste of monthly toric lenses.
Thanks

I know it seems awfully wasteful, but contact lenses have to be supplied under the direction of the Optician. Therefore, I suspect the charities would be unable to accept them for legal reasons.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Absolutely. Contact lenses fall under the same category as prescription drugs. They're dispensed for your sole use and cannot legally be passed on to anyone else. And even if it were legal to do so, it would be a very bad idea as toric lenses are specialised clinical product that can only be fitted by a qualified optician."There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. When it comes to history, it will be the people who broke the law for freedom that will be remembered and honoured." --Rt. Hon. Tony Benn0
