I have to say that I have a few bits and pieces that are silicon... from cheap (Lidl's) to dear... from one of our local stores and internet... and I have to say that I still prefer the metal tins.. It could be that I am too long in the tooth but I just find that the turning out cakes etc etc is far easier that with the floppy silicon ones.. Maybe if I persevered with them, I might grow to like them... but not at the moment.... I also bought the silicon ones for fitting into my halogen oven.. as none of my metal ones fitted it.. but, again, I ended up buying metal ones... That's my thoughts for what its worth... There could be a lot of posters who love silicon...
Cheers0 -
please try home bargains first if you have one near they had the dishes and muffin trays when i was last in very cheap0

I have a few bits in silicone and love them. They're all cheap but I think it would be worth paying more, mine aren't going to last for years and the cake 'tin' in particular is thin.
Muffin tray is brilliant, they just pop straight out. I use it most for a crustless quiche mixture, with all sorts of fillings (sausage ones for breakfast) and in anything else they stick. Also used it for pork pies.
The round cake one I sit in a normal round tin for stability, but it also fits in the Remoska so gets used for eg shepherds pie or pasta bakes.
And I have a loaf tin, they do bulge out a little but that doesn't matter to me.
I'm quite tempted by the knife thingy, but there's not much money off it.0
