                    Hi,
I'm hoping you lovely ladies can as always be of some help, I've decided now that slimming world is paying off, and I've shifted some weight, I'm going to start looking for wedding dresses!!!
I hardly ever wear dresses, because premade ones just never seem to fit right. I am quite large on top (34GG which usually equates to a size 18/20 top, however waist wise I am now a 10/12 :j)
I'm just wondering if any one can recommend any good styles to look at that aren't going to leave me looking like a gypsy wedding wannabe, I don't mind a little cleavage on show but definitely do not want it to be the main focus.
I've spent the entire morning googling wedding dresses, but they are all on, of course beautifully thin, and well propotioned women! And I just can envisage what will suit me.
I've never been wedding dress shopping before with any one else, so have no clue what it will entail, and I am sure the people there will have dealt with odd shapes before, I don't want to choose to try on things that are going to make me look horrible, or don't fasten.
If any one can offer any tips, or designers names, or anything that may help me feel a little happier about this please let me know!
(Sorry I rambled a bit!)

You may want to consider going down the route of having a bespoke dress rather than having to take in something many sizes too big to compenste for your bust.
Personally, I think going for something with straps will be more flattering, and will give you the opportunity to wear a supportive bra. V necks help to create shape & show off your cleavage.0

Try looking at styles with a halterneck as that takes the eye away from the bust and still offers very good support...well done on your weight loss...have fun looking and trying on!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I'm a 34H size 14/16 and have bought the Berketex Delfine dress, I'd go for straps, halternecks make my neck ache, I tried on a few others but the neck line of the Delfine is really flattering, some say that due to the corset you can wear a strapless but I couldnt, not enough support and i have dents in my shoulders that i hated seeing. I found that a slim fit gown was better than a princess dress as i just looked like a ball with a big top half and bottom half.
Dont be scared to go and try them on, I was dreading it after a bad bridesmaid dress shopping experience with the woman in the shop insisting i could fit into a D strapless bra/corset and making me try it on in front of my mum and SIL2B despite my protests (I could have cried it was so awful)!!!! But it was ok looking at wedding dresses, there were quite a few to chose from and she made me feel good and not abnormal like the other one did!
Well done on Slimming World, I am meant to be doing it but have given up as stuck at home with a bad back and am bored out of my brain, I have no will power, I get married in 3 months that really should be enough motivation!0

I am a 30gg and have gone for a strapless dress. I had no intention for this but went to a fab dress shop where the lady was great. I will be wearing a bra underneath but with their good seamstress its going to look great. Just wanted to say don't rule them out. Oh and lace up backs were always better.First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/14 0 0

I'm a 34G and a size 12 everywhere else, I found one particular style that really worked and gives me an almost Marilyn Monroe figure with curves in exactly the right places and am hoping to go without a bra. However, I'm not sure of the name of the style. Its a Maggie Sottero called Renee, well boned to pull you in in all the correct places
Hope this helps, there are dresses out to make all of us look beautiful, you just have to look and try them on. Once we found THE style, there were loads out there!0

HUGE well done on losing so much weight!!
I haven't tried this on yet so I don't know what it'll look like - but I'm a 32F/FF chest, but a size 8/10 bottom. To be honest I don't think I look too top heavy, but I am hoping this will balance my top and bottom out . .

(As someone who has also lost a fair amount of weight - going from a size 16 to 8/10, I want to wear a strapless dress to show of my collar bones - didn't have them two years ago - want to make the most of them now!)0

            Thank you so much ladies.
I admit I am quite nervous about, I have stupidly chosen 5 stunning bridesmaids, who are all skinny little things. And I just don't want to feel like an elephant next to them!
@The Forgetful One Oh no, I've been browsing the Maggie Sottero website all day now, i'm in love!!!
@MrsDrink I saw my collar bones for the first time about a week ago, only from a certain angle, but I was amazed!!!
Once again thank you, i was a bridesmaid recently and it would seem everything that suited the other looked awful on me, just makes me a bit nervous trying things on infront of people now.
But hopefully i'll get a nice assistant in the shops!!Thoughts become things!0

I am a 34G. I purposely went for a dress with straps, not just because of my bust size but because I wanted something different (I am one of 7 weddings in my group of friends and family this year).
I would steer clear of sweetheart necklines with a low back and if you choose a dress with detail under the bustline make sure the boobs will fit in the bust bit. I always have a problem in that area!0
