Thinking of put it away until next next holiday - anyone know if there is a date that this sim has be activated by? On O2''s freesim, there is usually a sticker saying that this sim "has to be activiated by xxxx.".

I thought the sim was already activated? I put the sim in my phone and it said I had £10 credit.

Thanks, twinkle06_123. My understanding is that sim cards come in as "ready to use". They are activated when connecting to the network for the first time. After that, the "must make a chargeable call in xx days" clock starts to tick.

Sorry to save me time how long have I got please? Checked it yesterday to see if cheapo £2.50 phone was unlocked (it was) so must have activated the SIM

I think you must make a chargeable call in 83 days to avoid disconnection.
