In woolworths and boots especially always hand them each set of 3 for 2 as otherwise you can be losing lots of money and woolworths have no way to rectify it (as of my last visit anyway).
e.g. you have three lots of 3 for 2 in your head they are:
a) £7 + £7 + £6 (cheapest free) = £14
b) £5 + £5 + £3 (cheapest free) = £10
c) £2 + £2 + £1 (cheapest free) = £4 giving you a total of £28
but they put them through like this
a) £7 + £2 + £1 (cheapest free) = £9
b) £7 + £5 + £2 (cheapest free) = £12
c) £6 + £5 + £3 (cheapest free) = £11 giving you a total of £32
ok basic eg but illustrates what i mean :j :rudolf:
(at woolies i had to get the girl on the till to re do a £200 shop as there was no other way - boy was i popular...!?)
what goes around comes around
sometimes its good to leap 1st and enjoy the view on the way over..?
if i live til i'm 100 i'm still here for a good time not a long time in the grand scheme of things of course....:A
EVERY cloud does have a silver lining you just have to look really REALLY hard sometimes..

You have completely lost me, can you add a bit more to your post please.0

I'm cheeky and put them through 3 at a time to avoid this. Pay for them and do the next 3.
Sales assistants love me.....:rotfl:0 -
I think what the OP means is that you put things that are a similar price through together - most of the 3 for 2 deals take off the cheapest rather than a 1/3 as illustrated
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

If you buy 9 items on a mixed 3for2 offer - three of them priced £5, three priced £2, three priced £1 - you'd get the three cheapest items free meaning you'd saved £3.
If you put them through separately - ie the three £5 items, then the three £2 items, then the three £1 items you'd save £8.
Quite a difference!0 -
got it now. I thought everyone knew it was 3 for 2 each transaction. I have always put them through separately.0

this is probably already mentioned somewhere and most will have noticed for themselves but as most of my immediate family hadn't thought i'd just point it out....

The woolworths tills always work out the best deal for the customner with the biggest savings no matter what! However this only happens after the TOTAL button is pressed, im guessin you paid by card? cos you dont necessarily have to press total to do a card transaction for some random reason!0 -
