Wrong size item....40 mile round trip to return.

I have just got back from Asda, we went to get some jeans for hubby, when we looked the jeans were the wrong size, the hanger said 34 and they were a 32 (defo wont fit :o)

Its a good 40 mile round trip back to the nearest store, would you ring CS and complain? Im a bit miffed at the thought of having to go back to store just to swap them!

I'd phone the store !, tell them the problem, then explain how far away you live and tell them that you will not be back until you do your next shop !, then ask if that is OK, if they say no just tell them how much it will cost you in petrol etc !!...

Did they not have changing rooms to check the fit? The size does not tell the full story, different cuts/makes etc mean where you think you're a 34 may require a 36 or a 32. (sure clothing/hanger difference here but it's always best to check - especially for a 40 mile round trip...)

Asda cannot control people who take a couple of pairs of jeans for trying on, and the customer putting them back on the wrong hangers...

As said just swap them when you next return.

Hubby always is a perfect size 34, so no need to try, and he wanted them for a do at the weekend, so will have to go back especially!

So it was your fault really by not looking at the jeans, cant see what you have to complain about really.
By all means, take them back but I really dont think you can blame Asda, why didnt he try them on in the shop.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

    .

I have been caught out like this in Asda before and have found many clothes on the wrong hangers, even those where it's clear they are new onto the shop floor. I don't think it's entirely the OP's fault, you would expect staff to hang and display goods correctly surely?
The hangers show a size for a reason, what's the point otherwise?

x amount of staff to 1000's of customer with 1000's of items of clothes.

Yes sure, it's the staff fault for not checking that customers don't put items of clothes on the wrong hangers, and not checking that customers actually use some sense and check the purchase (the clothes) and not the hanger identifier..

It's always someone else's faults is it not.
Lets eliminate the margin of error by increasing the number of staff, but don't come come complaining when said Jeans are £300, the cost being paying people to check things for you.

34 waist... how about the length? how about the crotch fit?

If so important, a five minute try-on would save your 40 minute round trip.

Sorry but this is your error in my opinion, but I guess you're after blood and an appology and money for the 40-mile round trip in fuel/ vehicle wear and tear
and also a £50 as a good will gesture...?

just because he is a perfect 34 it doesnt mean he will fit a 34 in trousers/jeans from another retailer, should have tried them on
