I don't know what to do and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Here is the situation:
I took out a payday express loan, as requested i paid them back on payday, they say i never made that payment and request an authorization code from the bank to prove i had made that payment. spoke to the bank, they gave me an auth code that starts with T then 5 numbers, i gave to payday ex they said this is not an auth code, no use. i go back to bank they say yes it is here is also an account ID number and a financial ARN number - i go back to payday ex, none of these numbers are any use, we don't believe your bank and think they have not released the money to us and are holding it, do you have bank statements - yes, but there aren't any codes on the bank statement, i can't fax till next monday as that's when i next have access to a fax machine. Since then they have taken another payment from me which has went through but now means i don't have enough to pay my rent. what can i do?
Thank you for any responses.

There might not be any codes on the bank statement but surely there will be a payee name that they recognise?

AFAIK a lot of newsagents still offer a faxing service.

yes the bank statement confirms that £70 has been paid to payday express but they claim the money may just be being 'held' by the bank and unless it has an authorization code it is not proof of payment. As i'm sure many people will appreciate £70 is a lot of money to me and i feel somewhat helpless in this situation. you know i don't think we have any newsagents left in town i think it's just w.h.smiths! but maybe the library?
thank you for your response anyway :)

Well, AFAIK again, if the payment has gone out, i.e "appeared" on the bank statement more than 24 hours ago then it has been sent and cannot be recalled.

The money should definitely be with them by now.

Library. Newsagent. Pub. Your bank may be nice and send it from their fax machine. Can you scan and email perhaps.

Good luck resolving it. Don't ever use firms like this again.

    How much did you borrow?

The minumum on the website seems to be £80 which doesn't even include interest which would have made the repayment £100

If you have not repaid in full, this will spiral rapidly downwards in the way you describe.

Right thanks, so if it's on my bank statement they cannot dispute that, okay i should be fine then, it will be a bit messy but as long as i know the bank statement is proof then i should get a refund. I don't know how i seem to get myself in these situations, i'm terrible with money :( thanks all.

yes this is true, it is interest only i intend on paying the full amount back on my payday this month, they are however not making it easy for me.

Of course they aren't! They want their money in full like you agreed to.

I would have thought they wouldn't want you to pay back in full because they would make more money from you in interest. Anywho, hopefully my bank statement will be enough to convince them i'll get my refund and then come the end of the month they can take the full amount back and hopefully i won't have to use this kind of service again.

You need to analyse why you had to use them in the first place. If you were short of money due to a large unexpected and unavoidable expense then hopefully you will get out of the PDL cycle once this one is paid off. If however it was to catch up with regular bills then you need to address your outgoings and see how you can reduce them. Might be worth visiting the DFW board for some advice.
