Pregnancy and Mortgage applications

Hi all
We are looking to move house, I'm the higher earner and as yet we've no kids. We've just found out I'm pregnant, though very early (too early to be telling family and friends yet). Whilst we'll have a good-sized deposit, we'll still be looking at a mortgage of 60-70% LTV, depending on the property we go for.
Based on the AIP we got from HSBC, we're well under the limit of what they will lend us.
We've done the sums ourselves as to what we can afford whilst I'm on mat leave, and what we need to save up before the little un arrives (fingers crossed!), but do we need to tell the lender that I'm pregnant?
Not wanting to be depressing, but I know the stats on miscarriages etc so I'm not telling anyone at the minute and don't really feel like I want to tell a bank!
Any advice gratefully received!
Thanks

It looks like you haven't even found a place yet. I'd wait until you're 14 weeks along OR you've found a place and had the offer accepted and so you're ready to actually apply for the mortgage to disclose. Congratulations :-)0
