at least vince cable is consistent...

He doesn't just threaten the unions, he's now threatening the bankers!;)
"The chancellor and prime minister have made it clear that if we don't get results, they have said we should take further action with tax on banks," Mr Cable said.
Sanctions could include a tax on profits, balance sheets or bonuses, he said.
But he also said it could be a problem if some banks met lending targets, while others did not.
Under Project Merlin, the amount the four biggest banks, plus Santander, agreed to lend to SMEs equates to £19bn a quarter. However, in the first three months of the year £16.8bn was lent.

Sadly, I fear this is little other than empty rhetoric.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

What worries me is the praise for Lloyds for their 'toe the line' I have just bought some shares in them
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher

He was good at moaning before the coalition got in, but now he's a bit of a damp squib. All he's managed to do is get some of his powers taken away.

So did Gordon Brown when he was in charge.

As for the threatening unions thing. Was hardly a threat, and what's he supposed to do? Are the unions supposed to just be able to freely threaten anything, even damage to the country, and politicians just say nothing?

All this states is that all parties do and threaten the same thing when they are in charge.
