Best £10 I have ever spent on a concert! Was in block 242 and could see loads. You even got to see Take That back stage waving at all us in the cheap seats :p They put on a great show!!

Collected tickets at 12 noon - allocation was first come first serve. See ticket queue was smallest and I had about a 30 minute wait.

Parked on a back road where I always park free of charge for the city matches - had no problems.

    Many thanks OP :T:T:T

    Hi,

Thanks for the info. We're going tonight &, based on your comments, think I'll go pick up tickets like you at 12, then go back later in time for the concert - what time is it best to arrive & queue up to get in, do you think?

Can you let me know which street you parked in, please? And was getting away OK at the end? (We need to be heading out in a southerly direction).

    Many thanks for your help,

B (I've pm'd you with this too, in case you see one & not the other!)

Ok, going with DD tonight, getting quite excited! :T

Please can anyone who's been say, what time do things actually start happening on stage? Have had an email from Seetickets now have to pick tickets up after 4pm, wondering how to fill in the time once we've collected them. Apart from Asda over the road (which will no doubt be heaving) and a Tesco a mile or two away, doesn't seem to be a lot to do in the area (and I won't have a car) ? Was hoping for a nice pub and a reviving glass of Chardonnay (or two), but the ones around look pretty rough from what I can tell online?

Also, need to arrange pick up with dear husband after the show (dear man is driving over from Yorkshire just to pick us up!) Which roads is it that they shut after the concert please? From the v useful info previously posted on here about the community centre parking, I'm assuming that we'll be ok if he picks us up in the estate to the south of Ashton New Road?

Anyone local got any answers, or helpful or wise suggestions? Thanks for any responses.
    Hope is not a strategy.

still seems to be conflicting advice about ticket pickup. Can someone please clarify whether i need to get there early to pick up the best tickets or do i have allocated tickets to be picked up anytime. I booked with seetickets

Everyone - whatever you do, don't be tempted to move along with everyone else once the gig starts, and there seem to be some empty seats. They are ALL booked, and you'll need to move back! There was a lot of toing and froing last night, after people had moved into better seats.

went last night ,arrived at community centre at 3.50 walked to stadium 5 mins ,found box office and got tickets 3 people in queue for ticketline then we had something to eat and looked at the massive queues ,went into spiral turret 5.30 no queues at all ,everyone lining up for general admission.
£20 seats fantastic ,good views ,fantastic show especially robbie williams.
show finished about 11 we walked out got in the car and nightmare, gridlock everywhere probably compounded by the fact everyones sat nav takes then the same way but i suspect more due to greater manchester police inability to control traffic, god knows how they do it on match days

I went last night after winning tickets on twitter (proper mse'er :D) was brilliant!! Robbie definitely stole the show.

I would say go to your seats for 20 past 7 if you wanna see the Pet Shop Boys unless you wanna savour the atmosphere building up but your seat will be reserved anyway.

Take that came on about 20 to 9.

Hope you all have lovely times x

I heard that last nights concert was running a bit late.

I went on sunday and the petshop boys came on at 7.00pm and take that at 8.15pm that's the time my count down clock tells me.

So i would advise getting there just before 7.00pm if you do want to see the pet-shop boys, and deffo be in your seat for 8.00pm to see take that, you don't want to be late for the concert.

We went last friday and our experience was the same as Saint Chris.

When leaving there were THOUSANDS of people everywhere. We avoided Ashton Old Road and instead walked up Alan Turing Way. At the traffic light junction with the Markets on the opposite side of the road to the markets there is a wide side road. We waited here and hubby could see us from the Traffic Lights and knew where we were to pick us up. Plenty of room to stop and turn around, we left via Alan Turning as well. It was really easy and no congestion. If you get too close to the stadium every road is shut its pointless. Walk up the road a bit and you will be fine. Its not the best area but there are loads of people doing the same so your not alone.
