owe my boyfriend £200

Options
Hi guys
newbie here but ive been reading the forum for years now!
I'm looking for ways to get out of debt, up my income etc etc etc

One of my first priorities - I owe my boyfriend £200 - he lent me this to help with my rent but he's in financial difficulties himself now so I really need to help him.

I currently work full time and have already tried taking on waitressing after work (far too tiring after doing 9 hours daily in my current job) and I also tried Avon with no luck whatsover.

I sell a few bits on ebay - every little helps but I think the fees are daylight robbery lol

Im looking for the best ways to earn money from the web - here are my current questions from browsing the forum

1, does squidoo actually make you money, is it worth and does anyone on here have success with it?

2, I have a degree so I'm pretty literate and enjoy writing/discussing current affairs - are there any web sites that actually pay for this kind of writing?

3, I would consider online adult work! Seriously, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but would be grateful for any tips on how to earn money through this as well

I dont think your boyfriend would be happy with last option.

for writing online, try helium, also dooyoo, ciao, trivago and igougo (if you like travelling for the last two)

    Hi Dinoboo,

I don't have any experience with the 3 things you mentioned, but have found myself that if money is needed in the short term it can often be easier to cut back spending than to make extra money, if you see what I mean. If this may be of use to you, there are many posts on the forum from people who show what they spend on various bills, and receive suggestions for improvement.

Waitressing on top of a f/t job sure does sound exhausting. This may not help short term, but if you are looking at upping your income in the longer run, looking into getting a better paid job may be better than taking an extra p/t job on top. It may be possible to get grants towards short courses/qualifications depending on where in the UK you are and what your current income is.

    Good luck!
  • Have you tried working out where you can cut down your own expenditure. Maybe try posting your SOA

You could have a look at oDesk, PeoplePerHour, eLance or FreeLancer to see if there is any freelance work you fancy.

If you really want yo do the adult stuff then there are sites you can sign up for with your webcam. Have a look first to see what you would be expected to do before you commit to it.

    Hi !

In regards to making money from writing, You could become a paid blogger? if you literally just google 'get paid to blog' you should find lots of tips! if you are funny, or have a passion in something in particular (fashion, movies, politics etc) then you could be quite good at it! Its a lot easier than being on your feet all night waitressing too! Otherwise I am sure you have seen lots of paid surveys on here, mystery shopping or even paid product testing? Will take a while to make £200 though!
 2014: £20 voucher from SurveyFriends, £10 cash payout from Panel Opinion too and working towards more from Valued Opinions currently.
2013: £35 and £50 vouchers from SurveyFriends! More than £15 made from other paid surveys sites (Yougov, Panel Opinion, Valued Opinions, Pinecone, etc.) Happy so far!

Thought the bit about adult work was a wind up but, to be fair, a lot of people do do it. I read in the paper recently about a girl who went to private school but ended up working as a call girl and was earning over 6k a week

Thanks for your suggestions. I'd much rather get paid to blog, write, etc, but the adult work thing is kind of like a last option, I guess it can be quite tongue in cheek (!) - and you can take an amusing stance from it if u do phone or text work, which is what i'd consider doing before any web cam stuff.
