My 1st win this year but I can't have it.

This is just typical of my luck, my first win this year and it had to be Focus DIY. I'm not even sure what it would have been.
I received a letter this morning from Ernst & Young saying that their records state that I was a winner in a competition, with Housetohome.co.uk, run prior to their appointment, but have not yet received my prize.
They say that they are unable to provide me with the prize and therefore I have an unsecured claim against the Companies for the equivalent value of the goods that I won. Although they do not expect that there will be sufficient funds available for unsecured creditors.

You need to find out which competition it was and contact the people running the competition. They will hopefully be able to arrange something else for you. Good luck.

The competition was run by Housetohome.co.uk but I'm not sure which competition it was or what the prize was. I have searched on here but couldn't seem to find which one it is.
Do you think it is worth contacting them, if so, what do I say.

Do you click thanks and enter - that might narrow it down.

I got the same letter 2 days ago and again first thing I ever won!

Let me know how you get on with tracking the comp down. I do click enter and thanks but there are several focus ones on the board.

House to Home are on several sites. It is possible that your win may have been from the Ideal Home website which is part of the Housetohome network.

In April they had a comp to win £800 of Focus vouchers - here

So sorry about your bad luck.

I always click the thanks and enter buttons for each comp I enter. I did only search the housetohome comps though.
I thought it may be vouchers but hadn't seen the £800 one only the £80 comp.

I hope you get it sorted and they send you something else nice, and honour your win :)

    Thanks for your replies.
I hadn't thought to contact housetohome about this but I suppose it can't hurt to try. I'm still not sure which competition it is though so what do you think is the best think to say to them.
