Hi, I wonder if anyone can advise. My very first album was (very cheesy) Dancin Party - 20 Original Hits, and I would love to get hold of this on CD if possible, but I don't know where to look.
I have been googling about trying to find it and found a link here but it's in german, and also I think this is about reviewing music not buying it.

Any advise gratefully received, thnaks

It's highly unlikely you will get this album on CD. The original was released in 1980 at which time cd was not in existence. In addition most compilation albums have a license period of between 3-5 years. Meaning the owning company will only license the song to the releasing company for a limited period of time. However if the owning company and releasing company are the same the title may still be in existence.
If you wish to search further, use the following MFP 50496, for this is the catalogue number for the release.
I've worked in music licensing for over 20 years and know a bit about this stuff.
Hope this helps, and good luck with the search.0 -
You might not be able to buy the entire album as a CD, but what about buying the individual songs and burning them to CD?
You could also buy the LP and use a computer to digitise it, then burn to CD... http://www.netsoundsmusic.com/nsudsii/2/476526404/1354/2.html
I put together a Spotify album with as many of those songs I could find ... http://open.spotify.com/user/dkirwilliam/playlist/1Ye2A8RcVvbbLPyFNVI93P0 -

That's really very kind of you0 -
As above, there is NOTHING to suggest the OP wants it for free, not even vaguely.

Thanks that is the one. Sad isn't it, but one of the songs came on the radio the other day and made me really want to get that album back, I must have listened to it a thousand times when I was a kid.
And of course I wasn't looking for it for free.0
