I totally over-ordered mine so have loads left over, I forgot that when you have a Caribbean themed reception party, half the guests will turn up in sandals anyway! The ones who did wear heels ended up in the flip flops though and loved the idea- including me! My shoes were pretty but it was so nice to change into comfy shoes after a while! :)

I forgot to get photos, but I just put mine in a suitcase (for the holiday theme!) and parked it next to the dance floor so they'd be seen.

I would recommend providing flip flops at any and all parties, not just weddings! :D

also the men will be wearing socks- so would they take them off to put on flipflops? no idea!

OOOhh fab idea, me too birdie if there are any after Twink. Only need about the same number. Would also have loved to see photos., the suitcase idea is great, not sure it will work for a castle wedding. I for one will definitley be changing into something more comfortable after a few drinks lol x

Sorry, I don't have enough left for everyone and Sammy caught me by PM first! :)

I think Franny put photos of her flip flops in a basket at her wedding on the original flip flop thread if you want to have a look at them 'in action'. There are some brilliant photos on Google Images too if you search for flip flop basket.

We didn't provide flip flops for men, I don't think anyone does since men's shoes shouldn't be uncomfortable enough to force them to take them off!

I almost bought an ice bucket in poundland today (comes in our wedding colour) and got multicoloured flip flops from there that have hearts on (same design as this). It won't fit many flipflops, but our wedding is fairly small and the budget is low. I was at a wedding in Italy at the end of last month and would have killed for this! I ended up walking through an italian village barefoot and still have scars on my feet!

Now I need imagination to help me do a sign to put on them.

    My sign said:
'Bought new shoes to match your dress and now your feet are sore?
Grab a pair of these so you can dance some more!'

I also decorated it with a couple of paper flip flops that I had left over from cutting out a shed load of them to turn into bunting. :)

I dont think anyone got a pic of mine but I had 50 pairs and put them in a wicker basket. Each pair I tied with silver ribbon with a pink heart attached with the size on. The sign said:

Thanks for the poems. There are quite a few around if you do a google.
I bought the ice buckets (on P9 here) and fitted 8 pairs of flipflops in it (6 looks ok, but I wouldn't want to put more than 8 in). It looks quite good and colouful and didn't break the bank. Perfect for a smaller wedding!

this might be a bit of a dumb question....but how did you know what sizes to buy?? :undecided

thinking of this myself but without asking people their shoe size (and therefore giving the surprise away), I have no idea how to go about it! :o
