i bought a mattress in the argos half price sale just after xmas. it was around £150 and supposed to be quite decent. trouble is it sinks in wherever it is i sit or lay for any length of time. have back problem so lay on bed a lot it felt like it was dipping but thought i was imagining it but no when you stand back it dips down at least by a foot. i cant find my receipt anywhere and have spilt a couple of drinks so now some stains on it too. is it just tough luck and i will now have to go and buy a decent bed somewhere???

trouble with getting mattresses from anywhere other than a bed / furniture shop is that it is difficult to try them out - like lots of the things that argos sell.
Argos will refund things if you don't like them (within a period of time I think) but only if they are unused ie resaleable - they aren't really going to want to sell a used mattress with stains on it.0 -
As someone has already said you have no legal rights if you do not have proof of purchase.
£150 is not a lot of money to spend on something that you spend a 1/3 of life on.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0 -
If you paid by card and you know which card and the rough date, then they should be able to trace the transaction. Then if you believe the mattress is faulty, then drinks spilled on it shouldn't make a difference to your guarantee.0

Just to say that I have never spent even that much on a mattress. They always last well and I replace after the recommended 9-10 years. I would never spend the silly money that some spend.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I assume you had it delivered, in which case Argos Direct will have details of your purchase on their system and can trace it from your address. If it is faulty you should get something done about it, as it will have a guarantee.0 -
I'd agree with the poster above !, Adsa Direct should have all the detail and it should last longer annd be "fit for purpose"....good luck0
