    why does it need my card details if it's free?

    fraud prevention. also, with that in mind, it's already integrated into the wonderful world that is the cpw system

    It's free calls to Lebara numbers, so just get 2 and give one to your kids/OH/Mum etc and you can chat for freeeeeeee

    Small print; set up automatic payments (i.e. when you get to zero) £10
    Standard PAYG £5

    Probably sets you up on auto payment by default. Please double check the moment you receive it.
    If you can make sure you do not hit the limit then go for £10, but maybe safer going with the £5

    Good point but only reason you are asked for card details is the way carphone system works no payment is taken and no other payments need to be made you are not set up for payments by default
    If you dont like me remember its mind over matter, I dont mind and you dont matter ;)

    So I order 2, take one with me to Mexico and either use it to receive calls costing 17ppm (is that going to be the same for the receiver?)

    or will they be free as calls to Lebara are free (but ONLY after a top-up - does this offer constitute a £10 top-up?)

    edit;
    OK think I answered my own question, looks like it is expensive to either make or recieve calls for the 'roamer', but at 30p per text, means I can use the free £10 for 33 texts for nothing. And I think the person in the UK will be able to send them to me for free.
    I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)
    Quidco and Topcashback, £4,569
    Shopandscan, £2,840
    Tesco Double The Difference, £2,700
    Thomson EU261/04 Claim, £1,700
    British Airways EU261/04 Claim, EUR1200
