Starting to get really annoyed

I moved of the home me and my ex shared almost 2 years ago. I'm desperate to get my name off the mortgage but the bank are telling my ex she 'can't afford the payments on her own', even though she has been paying them herself for 2 years. Does anybody know of anything I can do?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Her salary would have to be high enough to take on the mortgage. If salary multiples stack up, then look to remortgage. Otherwise, you're stuck on the mortgage unless you sell up.

The only way to solve this, would be to try and seek a remortgage to another lender who is happy that your ex partners salary is sufficient to cover the debt (so you're looking for high multiples (do they still exist!), or a lender that assesses borrowing power on an affordability matrix).

I am obviously assuming that your ex has a good credit profile

As there will be a change to the deeds, in your name being removed, I doubt you will qualify for any free legals offered by the lender - but I guess that you would consider this a small price to pay to get your freedom !!

    Hope this helps

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but unless your ex can re-mortgage in her sole name you will remain on the existing mortgage.
My ex has been on my mortgage for the past fourteen years even though I have been the one paying it. Even with that track record the mortgage company are not interested
