Hi Folks,
Has anyone flown on this flight recently (AC895 I think it is)? We're taking the kids over and I'm keen to know if the aircraft will have the little games console things in the seat (so my kids don't go bonkers or kill each other for my iphone).
Also, anyone taken the bus to Dublin Airport at some ungodly hour in the morning? (4ish, 5ish).
Thanks,
BatCat

We have taken the bus to Dublin Airport and it was fine - the one we were on had no loo, which might be an issue for the children, but there were comfort stops along the way - Newry Bus Station anyway!
Haven't flown that particular route though, so don't know about the games consolesDJWW - cos we won't let it!0 -
I'll be talking the 0500 bus in about 10 days time, its going to be operated by the Irish bus company. I'm sure it will be fine, just need to make sure I don't fall asleep and miss the airport stop (as it goes on to Dublin city centre)Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34

Hi I flew this route last year and there only have the screens dotted around the cabin, no seat back screens0

Taking that flight this Saturday. Decided to book a room in the Clarion at the airport and go down whenever I fancy it on Friday on the bus and get up at a reasonably ungodly hour on the Saturday morning rather than a complete ungodly one.
Figured that the 60 quid was a small price to pay compared to arriving totally knackered as I dont really sleep on planes.
If I remember I'll report back over the weekend and let you know.0 -
No games consoles just central projectors.
I was in row 36 and projector was in row 31 - 36 was just about seeable without binoculars but had that old copied video look of people walking past all the time. Next projector was row 15 or something so long distance to see if in row 19 - forget it in other words.
Great service, reasonable food, attentive aircrew and kept asking if you wanted water - first time on Air Canada and far better than any US airline Ive flown.
Good legroom in the seats as well. Overall good experience but dunno about kids though - thats a long time in the air! Add in the direct bus journey and its a long long day before you even arrive.0 -
Hi Joel fizz!
Thanks so much for your report (hope you had a nice trip too).
Now I know what to expect.
We had considered getting a hotel room the night before but with the 2 kids factored in hotels are a bit of a nightmare, so we're opting for the nightmare of bus at ungodly hour.
Sounds like things have improved foodwise too. Last time we traveled I swear they served me sock.
Thanks again!!!

Just to follow up Im sitting in Toronto airport about to fly west. Air Canada customer service staff are on strike as of today. I got through painlessly enough but was here 3 hours before my flight (usually internally is just an hour). Managers are staffing the checkin desks and asking you to use the kiosks etc.
Dont know if it applies internationally or just in Canada but worth checking out if you are flying soon.
As far as I know all flights are still going, maybe just delays or long check in times etc.0
