Can anyone explain what it's for/how you use it?

used when you need to apply more force than is sensible to apply through a ratchet mechanism0 -
Ah so it's sort of a cheap breaker bar?0

I usually hit mine with a lump hammer, then put a 3 ft tube on and jump on it, then hit it again.
I have usually knocked the little ball bearings out of the end as well, so the bar normally falls out.
You can use them with another socket to hold a nut still when you undo the bolt in it, if they're different sizes, or if you have two sockets that fit, rather than use a spanner.0 -
But primarily for what Vaio said.Hoping this year is better than the last.

i use one regularly when working on my mini since you can slide the bar along when attempting to use a socket in a tight space! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
