In the employment Act Section 14, paragraph 1 it allows

Section 13 does not apply to a deduction from a worker’s wages made by his employer where the purpose of the deduction is the reimbursement of the employer in respect of—
    (a)an overpayment of wages, or
(b)an overpayment in respect of expenses incurred by the worker in carrying out his employment,
made (for any reason) by the employer to the worker.

Taken from a post a few days back.....by D70. No point in rewriting it all.

However, you have the benefit of the interest it has earned you, so you will be a few quid up all told.

the whole of central networks got a 4% rise so my salary changed which i questioned but they didnt do anything about it apart from saying my new salary was right with the 4% rise......but now it seems they had put me one up in the ladder so ive been getting payed to much.

what i want to know is can they now change my salary after this amount of time ?

    b) refuse to repay it and end up with the Police arresting you for theft.

I seriously doubt this would ever happen! Worse case scenario, sacked and the matter goes a debt collection agency.
