Hi
My Father suffers from Parkinson's Disease and needs all his liquids thickened to aid in swallowing. He detests the Food thickener which gets added to all his drinks which he says taints their flavour so I had thought about Milkshakes as an occasional treat.
Can anyone please advise the thickest available Supermarket Milkshake?
Thanks

A home made banana milkshake made with ice cold skimmed milk would probably be more successful. Anything blended at home tends to get more air in than ready made bottles (it is the added air which thickens a shake).Truth always poses doubts & questions. Thanks for the response.
I 'think' some Supermarket Shakes are thickened with additives i.e. gum, agar and carrageenan (seaweed) and these although of a lower quality are more stable and have a longer shelf life.0 -
Morrisons have Frijj Milkshakes for 50p each at the moment, not sure when the offer closes.
Lists carrageenan and guar gum as stabilisers0
