I have a challenge for you Martin.
Play scrabble with Mrs MSE in the same way that Steve McQueen played chess with Faye Dunaway
    in The Thomas Crown Affair.

Well done! Always feels good when a long standing target is achieved.

Has Mrs MSE set herself a similar goal?

I can't get Mrs MSE interested in her average, she is far more concerned about winning. Whereas I would happily lose 450 to 430 rather than win 330 to 320.

She averages 366 which is good, but the lack of average focusing I think means if I'm a long way ahead she doesn't try as hard - whereas in the reverse, I keep fighting to push my score.

    Should have guessed.

    She is female.

    You are male.

Beating a man at something he is good at gives the short term satisfaction which a long term goal never would. :D

Not much - those are all 1-point letters.

Whilst an average of over 400 in a long run of games is impressive, it is less so when it seems that the vast majority of those games were against the same opponent, and not played on a timer with each player getting 25 minutes to play all their tiles.

We'd be more impressed if, as I've said previously, you, and perhaps Mrs MSE, were to make an appearance at one of the ABSP weekend tournaments, then we'd see what you're really made of - details of events are available at www.absp.org.uk
