Glitch come true?!

Hi,

Can anyone help?!

If you buy something online that is obviously a pricing glitch, and the company sends a confirmation email of your purchase and then takes the money out of your bank account, how do you stand? Are they obliged to send you the goods or or they within their rights to simply refund you?

Legally they don't have to honour anything, once your goods are delivered then the contract of sale is binding. I have known companies to send out glitches to the couriers, realise that they have made a huuuge error and recalled all orders from the couriers.

Companies only take the money at point of despatch, the money is held in 'limbo' as such from your account until the goos are ready to despatch. think of your bank being the middleman here, holding onto your money as you have commited to buy, but wont release it until he knows your goods are on their way.
