Getting nowhere fast.
Wickes carcuses nowhere near as nice as independent, plus white inside whereas independent aren't. Doors are nicer at independent as is cornice. Obviously still have issues with their appliances. wickes price matched.
Think I prefer the independents kitchen but wickes appliances.
Current prices
Independent 9k - includes everything.
Wikes 8,600 with 300 vouchers back to buy in store PLUS after negotiation will now do 3 yrs interest free. However this quote doesn't include fitting and i estimate 1.5 (Total 10.100)
Part of an extension and renovation project so money for kitchen is coming from morgage not savings so obviously huge bonus.Morgage till Nov 30 GOAL MFW Sept 2016Aug 11 - £100k Aug 2016.... It's GONE!!!!!

Have gone with independent. Got a mate to come with me and she instantly picked that as her favourite. Plus our builders asked about for us and said everything they've heard has been positive, and that their joiners brilliant. Paid deposit and booked fitting today.

I've just had a kitchen fitted by Homebase. It took nearly 4months from when I placed the order to deliver and although the main part of the fitting was done in 4 days they still haven't finished and I don't seem to have any priority over jobs they've not started.
I was told by the sales people 4-6weeks. I'm four and a half months in and still waiting for them.
I wouldn't have ordered from them had I thought it would take this long.
Any similar experiences? What did the sales people give you as a lead time.
I should add that my kitchen is small 3.3m x2.7m
Further the insurance covering the job had actually run out by the time the job was started. Nobody at Homebase seemd to understand this and kept telling me it would be okay even though I had a the certificate in front of me with the dates on. I never did get to the bottom of this despite speaking to nearly every Homebase employee (well it felt like it), if they had burnt my house down I wonder what the insurance company would have said about my out of date certificate.0 -
We don't do duplicate posts garden_gnome. It's the same people reading the threads, you only need to tell us once. If you're keen for a reply then it's best to start your own thread rather than tag on to someone elses. If you're just adding your own experience, then feel free to add it to someone elses thread - once.
The usual advice on this board is to steer clear of the fitting services that the DIY stores offer.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
