one particular rep,he can't remember which company, said that if he wished to sell his property in 10 years he would still recieve his FITs payments for the remainder of the 25 year period. i don't think so.:rotfl:

To be fair, that's correct. The FIT contract is personal and does not automatically convey with the property.

I am intending to rent out my house when I emigrate (hopefully). I have installed a Webbox so I can continue to supply meter readings to my supplier even from afar.... therefore keeping the FIT payments. My tenants will obviously benefit from any electricity generated that they can use. Hope this is a good plan.............

    Hi

This might have been a waste of money then .... the readings must be taken from the total generation meter, not the inverter which is the source of the Webbox data. This will be in your FiT contract.

Thanks didnt know that. They are reading almost identical in fact the generation meter is reading more than the inverter. One unit diffrence in a week.....

Might have to use a webcam instead then?

This is what the energy saving trust says:

Will I be eligible to receive the tariff if I move into a home that already has an electricity generating technology?
FIT eligibility remains with the installation, even if the ownership of the home or generating technology changes. Therefore the technology must have been eligible before you move in, even if it is not registered yet.
What happens if I move home?
Ownership of the technology is linked to the site and, therefore, in the case where a building or homeownership changes, the ownership of the technology would also transfer to the new owner.

    Hi

When we registered with our FiT partner the documentation allowed the possibility of registering the system in one name and diverting the payments to a third party .... raises a few questions about what the EST say in the link, especially as the 'rent-a-roof' sector exists and they don't own the property. I suppose that it would be possible to sell the house and retain the panels through entering into some form of roof leaseback scheme similar to 'rent-a-roof' and therefore keep the FiT income .... I'll do some digging when I have some time (if I remember ;)).
