Make Up for Covering Scars

Hi, I have a 3 inch scar on my forehead which I hate and would love to find some make up to cover it, I can never wear my hair off my forehead and it drives me mad!

The scar is very old (about 15 years) and is white, but I do not have any scar tissue under the scar as this had to be removed when I was in hospital, so make up or creams that work with scar tissue will not be of any use.

I have tried Dernablend in the past but it doesn't work well. Can anyone help me???

Thaks in advance :)

I didnt like Dermablend either, I have a small broken vein I used to try and cover, Estee Lauder Double Wear has very good coverage but can cause sensitivity problems, the powder seems to be less irritating then the liquid, I'm using Revlon Colourstay atm which is high coverage and very matte, I mix it with other products to work with my skin but this is the best I've tried yet, dd has a small faded scar on her face it doesnt bother her at all but she uses MAC with good results but again its not a foundation for sensitive skins, I'll keep an eye on this thread in case anyone has any other suggestions, good luck:)

eta - have you tried a primer before applying your foundation? The Body Shop used to do one that gave very good coverage even before putting foundation on, just a thought:)
Thank you for this site Martin

Try Kat Von D's tattoo make-up, It's to stop the showing of tattoos, so I'm sure that a scar will be no trouble for it!
    A work in progress. <3

I use Veil camouflage cream, not sure if it's the same one the Red Cross uses. I bought it in medium and actually use it as a concealer on my face. It comes in various colours for blending as well.

when you say you have tried dermablend have you actually had training with it? I bought some and it looked dreadful lol. went to my GP who ref'd me onto red cross (i think???) I got a prescription exactly matched to my skin and a 90 min lesson on how to apply it - it looked nothing like the orange caked on stuff i applied :)

I didn't know that my GP would refere me to the red cross, this is something I'm defo going to look into, when I tried dermablend I couldn't get it to blend properly and although I am very fair skinned I always ended up with an obvious lighter shade where the scar was ' covered'

Thanks so much for all the advice, it's much appreciated.
