To be honest I'd avoid both gumtree and ebay for a trailer. Horseabout http://www.horseabout.com/ is a more reputable site selling within the horse community in NI. When buying a horse trailer there is a lot to consider and if you are a novice go to a trailer dealer, http://www.iwt.co.uk/distributors you don't say where you are but there are lots of stockists in NI. The most important thing to look for, and I am sure you know this is the condition of the floor. I have personal experience of a very good friend who's horse died as a result of falling through the trailer floor while driving.. and it happens more than you think! It is very easy to make a trailer look in good order, a lick of paint, a good pressure hose can disguise years of neglect and rot! Just be careful.0

You could try the farming life section in the Newsletter, they used to have a great equine section!
We had a recent bad experience with a second hand trailer and a rusted chassis - so I would get in under it no matter how messy and thoroughly check the chassis - v expensive to fix!!!DJWW - cos we won't let it!0 -

Hubby looking for one as he wants to show his pony at Castlewellan Show. we will just keep an eye out for one although we have friends who said we could borrow theirs in the meantime.:)smokiewater wrote: »You could try the farming life section in the Newsletter, they used to have a great equine section!
