Just looked at my credit report. As follows:
Barclaycard - had since 23.06.2000. five missed payments (4 1's and a 2). All date back to May 2008 and before. Nil current balance
Virgin Credit Card - had since 30.9.2010. No defaults. Balance states £4,104 but paid this off last month so should clear off this month.
Nationwide Credit Card - had since March 2011. No defaults. balance of £1,174. No defaults.
Natwest credit card - had since August 2008. No defaults. Nil balance.
Credit card from halifax. Opened 11.11.2009. Settled account. Nil balance. no defaults.
credit card from egg. opened 06.04.2009. settled. nil balance. no defaults.
Current account since 2002 - no defaults.
Mortgage - no defaults.
2 loans that were settled in 2009.
t-mobile contract since 17.08.2006 - no defaults.
how badly will the barclaycard missed payments affect my mortgage application? It is going off tomorrow to the Woolwich. They are from ages ago and my fault for not setting up a direct debit.
I have 4 open credit cards - 3 with no balance and 1 with £1,180 on it.
It is a joint mortgage and my husband has no missed payments and a great history.
Any opinions would be great.
Thanks

Meant to say the reason for a few credit cards is i have been taking advantage of 0% balance transfers.

The missed payments on the Barclaycard will be weighted lower if you close the account. This will also count in your favour again as you will have less available credit.
It will still be a slight issue but as long as you are applying for a good LTV and are stable you could be OK
Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

The missed payments will fall off the 36 month Insight record this month as they are more than three years ago. However, I'd question the sense in approaching the one lender you had problems with.
Do you really want to approach Barclays for a mortgage when your missed payments were on their account?I am a mortgage broker.
