Obtaining a mortgage whilst in a debt management programme

Myself and my husband are currently in a debt management programme which is not an IVA just an agreement with creditors about re-payments, we have been in this for approx 18 months and never missed a payment. We are looking to move house to down size our mortgage to reduce the monthly mortgage payment and pay off some of our debt but no one will lend to us. We are both in full-time, good paying jobs but as we have a deafult on our credit report and are under a debt management no one will touch us. Has anyone been a similar position or has any advice.

Hi, who are you doing your DMP with,it may be worth asking them for help and advise, we did get a re-mortgage with the help of payplan - who we are on a DMP with, however it was about three years ago and obviously the market has changed somewhat since
