I reply to some of the advice given. He recieved a letter today for the CSA asking for details on his employer, rent and council tax etc. The MP has told him to fill it out and comply with what they ask for because if we dont they could say he is being difficult and just do the doe. The MP has now sent a letter to them so we will just have to wait and see.0

Send your letter via the MP who can fax it off to them. Your MP appears to be on the ball, so hang on in there.
The MP should also send you a copy of the letter he/she has sent to the CSA.0 -
Been to CAB this morning who couldnt understand the summary either, that figures!!!! they tried to call the CSA but couldnt get through that figures too so they advised us to call our MP, which we have now done any they are looking into it as they also say it doesnt sound right so fingers crossed they can help.
Be interesting to see what CAB comes up with too or have they washed their hands of it and suggested you contact the MP? Not quite clear reading your post.0 -
Hi Cab have washed their hands of it and gave us the number of our MP, to be honest they werent that helpful.0

The CAB wont deal with old system cases (unless you are lucky and get someone who knows the system already), in all of their documentation they advise not to give advice on it to new starts.
They do however have access to the CPAG book on the CSA and if you are lucky and get someone with a bit of nowse about them they will look up and give advice. You need to contact NACSA really who will be able to help.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
Hi Kimitatsu, She didnt seem to know much about it but did go and ask her manager who told her to give us the MPs number. I did wonder if they didnt want to or just couldnt get involved. Thanks for the info.0

I don't wish to seem unkind but what is the status of his CSA payments? Is the child/ren involved now over 16/18 so he has stopped paying for them? If he owes support then he needs to pay it. Having had to support my daughter through the years when her ex didn't, it makes me cross that he can't seemingly be made to pay. He has arrears and makes no effort to pay them off, which means his girls go without. He can't cry poverty either because he went on to marry, buy a house, move and have 4 more children and benefit to the tune of several thousand pound compensation for an injury to his shoulder.0

Maybe you should read OP first post as his liability has ended. What happened to you does not help the OP at all and i think your comments are totally unnecessary. No where does it say the OP DH has tried to get out of paying or has tried to get out of paying in the past. Not all NRP are non-compliant you know!
OP - The CSA are notorious for getting arrears wrong and swearing blind they are not. You dont just hand over £3K for arrears you know nothing about. You need your DPF file which costs £10 and there is a template at the top of this forum on how to do that. Check through his file to see where the arrears come from and if they are valid. If your DH thinks that he is paid up then defo chase it up. All the info should be in the file assesments, payment schedule, and the amount he paid. The CSA are not always right and most of the time they are wrong and live in la la land. You could be in for a long haul and a big fight though but it can be done. Best of luck.0 -
" As far as he was concerned he thought he was paid upto date and the claim had ended."
I did read it and it doesn't seem clear to me! I would have thought he'd know for sure if it's age dependent. Perhaps it was just the wording and Op meant that his liability was ended. Op also says that they have only been together 2 years, I respectfully suggest she can't know everything about her partners past!0 -
Oh dear. I do know all about his past, no secrets here. Thank you mum24boys for trying. He is not trying to get out of anything, just confused and the CSA are not helping. I did explain that the claim ended in 2002 and then in 2003 he recieved a refund for overpayment. We are just trying to find out why there are suddenly arrears years later, and why they issued a refund in 2003 if there was infact arrears. If we thought he owed money we would pay it and if it is correct it will be paid no problem. I do understand as I have a 14years old daughter who has never recieved a penny from her father and probably never will, the case has been with the CSA since she was 3. But she is my daughter and Im not bitter as he has missed out on a wonderful girl. I am sorry that things have not gone well for you sooperb but maybe you should of asked questions if it didnt seem clear before launching your attack0
