For the valuer from the bank to do their valuation before the mortgage has been approved????:cool:

    I'd say so. Usually the bank agrees the mortgage on principle (based on the info you've given them) and once you put your application in, they have to send out a valuer to estimate the property value, as their money is essentially secured on it. Otherwise, you could be asking to borrow £100k for a garden shed.... Once the valuer has been to the property, then you'll get a formal mortgage offer from the bank.
