Has anyone heard of/used the shopping club?

  • I signed up to this on the basis that I buy food/petrol at Asda anyway, and that saving alone would make it worth the £10 Groupon cost.

Having bought and recieved Asda vouchers I have not actually bothered to look at the shoppingclub website for about 10 days. Today I have tried to access the website only to see 'Oops! This link appears to be broken.'

I am now seriously worried that the shoppingclub is a scam. Does anybody know if the absence of the website is temporary? And do I now have to be worried about having used my bank card with them?

The website opens fine for me - can login without any issues.

I got an ASDA card and topped-up with £500 and its working fine.

  • I have been using the shopping club for a few months with no problem but last week my money was slow going on my card and then when I have gone to check again today it won't accept my password and says to doesn't recognise my email address so that I can reset it... also getting a bit worried as they have £150 of my money! Maybe it's just a poor webpage...will try again tomorrow.
  • Could anyone tell me if the balance on the reloadable cards have a good expiry date.

I missed the Groupon offer but KGB are now offering the same £10 membership.
  • I googled the shopping club and this thread appeared! Thank God. I missed the Groupon/kgb offer. Now, Go Groopie is offering a discounted £10 for it! I am really tempted to buy but i need feedback for it. Has anyone purchased and used it yet? The discounts at the high street stores are really tempting - hehe.. i mean who doesnt love house of fraser, selfridges and boots! i spend tons at boots!

So has anyone bought the membership card yet? Any positive feedback??
  • Hey! I bought it off Go groopie last week. It gives discount in selfridges so i was happy! i heard you can save loads over a period of time.. not necessarily in one purchase. So its worth giving it a try. And its only £10! Not that much money lost right?
  • I joined using go groupie and paid £10, I only use the reloadable cards for m&s, boots and Argos as I regularly shop there. I got all three cards at once, paying £1.99 for postage. I have loaded £145 between them using debit card and paid 50p to do so which earned me £9.10 cash back which I loaded back onto m&s. I have to say I was a little worried after reading some of the posts but so far so good! I would say it is only worth it if you can load it using debit cards and are happy to load cash back onto the cards, and yes the money can take up to 72 working hours to arrive on your card so don't expect to load today and spend tomorrow! I can't comment on any of their other products but the cards work for me and should save me money over the year.
