I have wanted to go to Mauritus for a long time. A bit out of my price range. Have a lovely time. I am fortunate to be going to Fuetevetura on the 18th, due to a tax rebate. Can't wait, never been away for xmas.:jAmazon No:170 -
it does not cost a lot though 3 return tickets £2700 villa for £300 food around £300 took 18 month to save.dawn2dusk wrote:I have wanted to go to Mauritus for a long time. Well done to Yung, for standing in for moozie - it's not the easiest of jobs, but very enjoyable as this is one of the most rewarding threads on the forum - you actually see the results, and we feel the benefits. :j
Anyway - we went to LIDL today - plenty of good bargains - reductions on Belgian Chocolates and spent £15.00 (out of Christmas Fund) and most of our Christmas shopping is now finished (with the exception of the 'fresh' stuff - cheese, cream, ham etc., which we won't buy until next week) and we still have over £60.00 in our Christmas Fund. :j :j
Also eldest daughter, who, with her partner, will be eating with us over the holiday has just informed us that she will donate £40 worth of Tesco clubpoints towards the Christmas shopping - that will be brilliant. :A
My non-budget spend today was just 79p - LIDL have increased the price of my favourite chocolate from 72p to 79p  still good value though.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Hi
Spent £9.30 on bread, milk and cat food and 3 medium Cadbury selection boxes (3 for £5 ) in our local Spar.
Trying not to spend because OH does not get paid till Friday and also using up all the odds and ends in freezer and fridge before I start o the Xmas food.
Having some strange concoctions for meals at the moment but quite interesting.
Not long until Xmas (hoping that OH wages dept don't muck up the wages or we will be really stuck)
Its amazing how much food you actually have in the house without realizing it.
Its quite reassuring that if we get a really tight month we're not going to be hungry.
Goodnight everyone. Busy day tomorrow so need an early night.
Pay off by Xmas 2026 £175/£2324.67
February NSDs 6/15
February PADs £55
February grocery challenge £67.42/£2000
