If you signed up for the Lovefilm / Boots £15 voucher free trial, please read the following.
The Lovefilm offer's Terms & Conditions states:
"This FREE trial offer expires on 31/12/2006. Offer only valid for first-time subscribers to LOVEFiLM.com or any other LOVEFiLM International operated service. The free trial expires 21 days after registration or when we send you your 7th DVD rental, whichever is the sooner. . . Only users who have fully completed the registration process to sign up for the free trial and have received their first disc will receive their £15 Boots voucher. Your Boots vouchers will be dispatched within 30 days of registration."
Lovefilm has now sent an email to MSE member Gregory:
"In response to your recent e-mail, we inform that the promotion on your account is of Boots solus e-mail for 6 Free Rentals or twenty one days whichever ends sooner and £15 Boots Voucher. Further we would like to inform that the voucher is credited only after twenty eight days of subscription and is not available once the account is cancelled before availing the offer."
So the issue of the £15 Boots voucher is now conditional upon the subscriber signing up for at least one month's rental.
The payment of one month's rental is necessary because the free trial period lasts for 21 days whereas the voucher is to be issued only after 28 days.

Sounds like a pretty clear case of breach of contract to me; they can't add a restriction that you need to continue beyond the term of the trial to qualify if they after the trial has begun.
Personally (and this is because I am a stubborn git, though not a lawyer, so don't take this suggestion as anything more than that) I'd tell them they they either send me the voucher or face legal action. If they then ignored it, I'd spend £15 in boots and send them a copy of the receipt and a demand for payment and if they didn't cough up the cash I'd take them to the small claims court for it

 I signed up for Screen Select (now Lovefilm) via a Boots flyer, promising me 750 boots points just for registering. Guess what - never got the points from them. I chased and chased and got nowhere  So in the end I rang Boots and they credited me the points.
Not only that - as a service they were rubbish. I received a total of 4 DVD's as part of my free trial. 2 were scratched and unplayable and 1 was the wrong DVD.
Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole!!!!

You're right mr weeble. It's a blatant breach of contract.
I like your stubbornness but if my £15 voucher is withheld I'll be taking the simpler route of complaining to Trading Standards -- I posted the address of Lovefilm's local TS office on a separate thread.
If anyone has a contact for Boots, that'd be useful, too: it's their reputation that's on the line (Lovefilm clearly has no reputation to lose now) because it was Boots' association with Lovefilm which lent credibility and respectability to the free trial offer.

There isn't a generic number for customer services at Boots but the one for Advantage cards is 0845 124 4545, which is a local rate number (at least it isn't a 0870 one!
) I would have thought they would be able to assist.

deanos -- it was only started because the other thread was pretty much taken up with de-subscribing and how to go about it. Someone else the thread was getting too long to catch up with & it seemed a pity if greg's information somehow got buried. That'd probably help Lovefilm no end.0

Sometimes if it sounds to good to be true.....it usually is! I didn't have time to read through all the terms & Conds so didn't go for it! can do without the hassle right now!

I wouldnt touch any Lovefilm company. I took an offer out with them (this was in the summer) and I didnt add any films to my list. so to try and get money out of me they just sent me a random dvd which then got lost in the post due to a love film error (which sunsequently meant i couldnt cancel my account how convenient!!!) I was then subject to an investigation by royal mail as Lovefilm wanted me to pay for the lost DVD!! but I contested and sent back the necessary forms and have heard nothing since!!!! so beware!!Need to start saving :eek:0
