  • I have just typed to both Groupon and the Company. I don't think you can reverse it, if you have made contact with them and gave them the security codes. But we will see.

Unfortunatley with this company you have to cash the voucher in to gain access to the site to see its a rip off.

So if anyone has a voucher just contact Groupon and Do not get it authourised.

  • "Cash Back Transfer
    - Transfer to a bank account£1.00"

Most of the charges on the site are scattered around all over the place.

When I tried to do a cashback to my own bank account (after paying to load cards in first place anyway (0.5% (50p) debit card or 2% credit card) i had a sign come up that said

" a £2 fee will be debited from your cashback before its paid into your bank account"

So even getting cashback has further deductions.

I think a clearer FAQ's list needs to be put on the site with all t&c as unlike other cashbak sites that do NOT charge you for having the cashback you've earned sent via BACS theshopping club does, so what are the actual discounts? net after all deductions?

I know you can reload cashback onto another reloadable card (thats you've already paid £1.99 to buy and paid further 50p or @% to load your own cash, but to pay £2? again or is £1 again?

There is nothing like earning cashback for real i.e not reload it back onto some gift card....

Will wait to see if any updates...but if these charges continue to stay hidden don't see much gain for all the hassle of setting up.

  • Just thought I'd add a positive to this mainly negative thread. I agree all the charges are very offputting, and the set up is not very user friendly, but I did take up the Groupon offer simply because my RAC membership was due, and the discount code offered by the Shopping Club saved me about £40, so this more than covered my membership. But it is a shame they don't allow people to see more of the discounts before committing to sign up. I don't know if I will rejoin when my membership expires - depends whether I need what they are offering at the time I guess!

    Best avoided at all costs!
By the time you've paid annual membership, then paid £1.99 for them to post some "gift" cards to you, 2% fees for every credit/debit card transaction you make to top up the spending cards (and the postage costs - who ever heard of being charged fees on paying for postal costs!), 2% fees for buying vouchers to spend and then paid for the balance transfer of your cashback back into your account this wipes out any hopes of ending up in profit from this deal/"scam", unless by some chance you have £10Ks+++ lying around that you can load up all at once!
This is not to mention the riddiculous amount of time it takes to get the cards/vouchers through the post and the "technicolor errors" (their words not mine) in trying to actually get the cards working in order to receive the cash back!
